Student Life

At KO, there are many ways for a student to get involved: in the classroom, in the School, and in the community-at-large. Regardless of the setting, students reap the benefits of participation and activism and learn firsthand how getting involved helps them grow and develop as a student and as a person. They begin to exemplify two of KO's Core Values: Care Beyond Self and Become Involved.

Advisors work closely with students to ensure that they take advantage of the opportunities that exist for them at KO and in the greater community, to explore interests and passions, to serve and help others, and to lead. This focus on the whole child ensures that each student is healthy, safe, engaged, supported, and challenged.

Clubs and Activities

Cocurricular clubs -- ranging from the KO News to Global Awareness, from Forensic Union (debate) to the Green Team, from the Investment Club to Team Tobati, plus many more -- give students the chance to figure out who they are outside the classroom. What interests them? What matters to them? What is their identity as a member of both the KO community and the larger global community?

By getting involved in cocurriculars, students get to know students in other grades; they learn how to cooperate and collaborate; they hone leadership skills; and they see how good it feels to help others and be part of something bigger than themselves.
